Tikang Para sa Kinaiyahan - Mt. Apo via Kidapawan Trail


A four-day climb to the country’s highest peak Mt. Apo via the Kidapawan trail is set during the Holy Week on March 28 to 31, 2013. Dubbed as the “TikangparasaKinaiyahan”, the climb is organized by Gula Outdoor with a registration fee of P3,000 inclusive of transportation from Kidapawan-Lake Agco and vice versa, resort entrance fee, souvenir jersey, token, ID, certificates, municipal registration fee, one meal (before going home) and trail guide.

“Porter fee will be shouldered by the participants,” said organizer Imee Maren Buca of Gula Outdoor at the recent weekly SCOOP of the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

At least 30 to 70 participants are expected to join in the event aimed to “Think Green, Think Clean and Think Life –Act and Save Earth.” Part of the activity is also to a clean-up drive in the event trail location, which is one of the best outdoor and eco-adventure spot in Mindanao.


“We want to have a friendly trek, enjoy the gift and loveliness of nature and to raise visibility, awareness of what currently happened in our environment and to pledge in taking part of the some issues in climate change,” said Buca, also a teacher of Special Education (SPED) School Bangkal here.

Co-organizer Kharla Acosta of R-Gos Outdoor Stuff, on the other hand, said that proceeds will also be used for the signage that will be donated to the Kidapawan Tourism Office now headed by Joey Remicilla. Registration is now on-going at Gula Outdoor at Padre Gomez St. (PNA).
